Midriff vs. Waist — What's the Difference?

In fashion, the midriff is the human abdomen. The midriff is exposed when wearing a crop top or some forms of swimwear.

The waist is the part of the abdomen between the rib cage and hips. On people with slim bodies, the waist is the narrowest part of the torso.
