Eurasian vs. Caucasian — What's the Difference?

Eurasian, when used to describe people, denotes individuals of mixed European and Asian ancestry. This term can reflect a diverse cultural heritage that blends traditions from both continents. Caucasian, historically, refers to people originating from the Caucasus region but is now more commonly used in America to describe white individuals, not necessarily linked to that specific region.

Geographically, Eurasian pertains to the combined continental landmass of Europe and Asia. It represents a vast area with rich diversity in climate, ecology, and cultures. The term Caucasian, when used geographically, refers specifically to the Caucasus region, situated between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, known for its own distinct cultural and linguistic groups.

The Eurasian label is also used in biogeography to describe flora and fauna native to the Eurasian landmass. This spans a wide ecological spectrum from the Atlantic coasts of Europe to the Pacific shores of Asia.
