Solonetz
Solonetz (Ukrainian: Солонець, Russian: Солоне́ц, IPA: [səlɐˈnʲɛts]) is a Reference Soil Group of the World Reference Base for Soil Resources (WRB). They have, within the upper 100 cm of the soil profile, a so-called "natric horizon" ("natrium" is the Latin term for sodium).
Solonchak
Solonchak (Russian and Ukrainian: Солончак) is a Reference Soil Group of the World Reference Base for Soil Resources (WRB). It is a pale or grey soil type found in arid to subhumid, poorly drained conditions.
Solonetz
(FAO soil classification) A type of soil with a so-called "natric horizon" within the upper metre of the soil profile and a subsoil with higher clay content than the upper horizon, the latter having more than 15% exchangeable sodium.
Solonchak
A soil rich in soluble salt, often having a salt crust and mineral deposits to a depth of one foot, formed in areas of high evaporation, especially where the water table is close to the surface.
Solonchak
A pale or grey soil found in arid to subhumid conditions with poor drainage.
