The Maghreb (; Arabic: المغرب‎ al-Maghrib, "the west"), also known as Northwest Africa, is the western part of North Africa and the Arab world. The region includes Algeria, Libya, Mauritania (also considered part of West Africa), Morocco and Tunisia.
